In this course, Drs. Michael McEachrane and Steven Allwood discuss the effectiveness of cognitive behavioral therapy for people of African-descent.

Steven Allwood, PhD


Dr. Allwood is a licensed clinical psychologist specializing in individual and group treatment of adults. He is the Director Of Counseling and Accessibility Services at Morehouse College. Dr. Allwood’s areas of expertise include depression, anxiety disorders, substance use disorders, PTSD, ethnic and racial identity, religion and spirituality, men and masculinity, and diversity of human sexuality and gender identity.

Michael McEachrane, PhD


Michael McEachrane is visiting researcher at the Raoul Wallenberg Institute of Human Rights and Humanitarian Law in Sweden. He is also the founding and consultative member of the European Network of People of African Descent. He has a PhD in Philosophy from Åbo Akademi University in Finland. Dr. McEachrane has contributed to the report on reparations by the UN Special Rapporteur on Racism. His publications include, “Universal Human Rights and the Coloniality of Race in Sweden” and the book “Afro-Nordic Landscapes: Equality and Race in Northern Europe."

Ifetayo Ojelade, PhD


Dr. Ifetayo Ojelade is a Licensed Psychologist, Licensed Professional Counselor, and Approved Clinical Supervisor (ACS) with an interest in assisting people to heal in order to take their careers and personal lives to the next level. As an expert in trauma recovery, Dr. Ojelade works with healthcare, legal, and safety professionals to manage secondary trauma in the workplace. She also has a particular interest in women leaders of color in high stress roles.
